Njomo is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with 21 years of legal experience in diverse areas of legal practice specializing in telecommunications law, telecoms regulation advisory, Pan-African corporate advisory and secretarial practice, general commercial and corporate law and business registration with wide experience drafting and reviewing various commercial and corporate contracts and agreements. Njomo’s impactful work transcends diverse sectors, including telecommunications, real estate, oil & gas, energy, education, corporate social responsibility (CSR), and project management services within Kenya.
He is also a Certified Secretary (CS (K)) of 19 years’ standing and sits on the board of various private companies spanning a wide variety of business sectors.
Njomo holds a Postgraduate Diploma from the Kenya School of Law, an LLM in Law from the University of East Anglia in the UK, and an LLB Hons in Law from the University of Manchester in the UK. Additionally, he is a Commissioner for Oaths and a Notary Public.
He has garnered invaluable legal experience spanning a wide spectrum of legal domains, encompassing corporate and commercial law, intellectual property law, telecommunications, media and technology law, telecommunications regulation advisory, corporate advisory, property law, commercial and corporate law, business registration, company secretarial services, labour and employment advisory, energy law, joint venture transaction advisory, IP trademark registration and commercial arbitration practice.
Njomo’s legal portfolio includes his pivotal role in significant telecommunications and energy managed services transactions, such as collaborating with Safaricom Limited on Base Transmission Station (BTS) Managed Services Contracts, Geothermal Development Company (GDC), Huduma Kenya, Kenya Power & Lighting Company Limited and the Rural Electrification Authority.
Furthermore, his expertise has extended beyond Kenya’s borders, having played a pivotal role in regularizing the lease and license documentation for Airtel Kenya’s Base Transmission towers and having been seconded to Airtel Malawi Limited as the Legal & Regulatory Affairs Manager. In this capacity, he adeptly navigated negotiations and successfully resolved various trademark-related issues.
